Poor Widows Project

Poor Widows Project

The Quiet Corner Ministry through its various churches have identified 14 young and middle aged widows with children coming from a non Christian background who lost their husbands either due to an accident or wild animal attack. As majority of these women earn a meager income with practically no vocational training of any kind, and no resources to support themselves and their children, QCI initially started a small relief ministry by providing these women basic groceries every month. It had a significant impact in building trust and the women have now started looking to the ministry for support in a larger way.

Through this above project we plan to rehabilitate the interested women (since most are employed as daily wage labour or herd goats) by providing them a means of livelihood by training them in sewing and craft and eventually gifting them a sewing machine. Building a home for the widows with no houses of their own is also part of the project.

Part of the programme will entail ministering the word of God to the women to sow faith in the true and living God so that the young widows will find strength and courage in trusting God always in all their needs and trials.
